The other day, Lil B and Joey Bada$$ traded diss tracks (“I’m the Bada$$” and “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” respectively). Sitting down with MTV, Joey shares why he responded to the BasedGod’s initial attack.
“I just linked up with my homey [Lee] Bannon, and he played this beat and was like, ‘Yo, Lil B dis record?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, ‘ight’.” “Who knows?” he responded when asked about the BasedGod’s motives here. “But if somebody sends a jab at me, I’ll just send one twice as hard. I really didn’t have to respond, I don’t feel so, but I just did it. I don’t know why… [Actually] it’s too easy, that’s what it is. It’s too easy, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ I’m just flexing my skill on him.
If Lil B chooses to go another round, Joey says he wouldn’t respond as there isn’t a need and he’s already killed him. Now, can we get off this “beef” and get back to good music? Ok dope, check out the DJ Premier-produced “Unorthodox” right here.
