Besides today being International Herb Smoking Day, it also marks the sixth annual Record Store Day. To celebrate independent / mom-and-pop record stores and labels across the globe, MGMT drops off a “love-letter-to-David-Bowie” as Consequence of Sound perfectly put it. I can definitely hear the Bowie influence in this. For those who visited their local record stores today, you may have found this sitting on the “new releases” shelf in the form of a cassette.
